Description: In this video we’ll talk about the word 친구, and how it’s normally only used for friends who are the same Korean age. We’ll learn other words and verbs that we can use to talk about friends and acquaintances who are older or younger, or who are more or less close. This includes words such as 형, 오빠, 언니, 누나, as well as verbs such as 친하다 (친한) and 알다 (아는), 선배(님) and 후배(님) for seniors or juniors, 지인 (“acquaintance”), 절친 (“best friend”), and 깐부 (made popular in Squid Game).
